Peru to Host APEC CEO Summit 2024
Press Release by ComexPeru
Lima, 15 August, 2024 - Peru is gearing up to once again welcome the world's most influential economic and business leaders at the APEC CEO Summit 2024, set to take place from November 13 to 15 in Lima. Under the theme "People, Business, Prosperity," this prestigious event will bring together over 1,000 CEOs, thought leaders, and government representatives to discuss critical issues such as trade, sustainability, energy transition, and more.
This year marks the third time Peru will host the summit, reaffirming its commitment and leadership in economic and business cooperation within the Asia-Pacific region. The Foreign Trade Society of Peru (ComexPerú), which has served as the local Secretariat for the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) since 2001, will be responsible for coordinating the event.
The APEC CEO Summit 2024 will feature a series of key activities, including opening speeches by high-ranking officials, open debates on the current state of the world and future challenges, and opportunities for networking and collaboration on key initiatives.
Among the confirmed panelists are Jamie Dimon, Chairman and CEO of JP Morgan Chase; Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund; Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum; and Julio Velarde, President of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru.
Fernando Zavala will chair the event, bringing his vast experience and leadership to the summit's development. "We are honored to host so many distinguished leaders in Lima. This gathering is a unique opportunity for the private sector and government to collaborate on creating innovative and sustainable solutions that drive economic development in our region," Zavala stated.
The event will kick off on November 13th with a welcome reception, followed by two days of intensive sessions and discussion forums at the Gran Teatro Nacional. Discussion topics will include business strategies in the era of climate change, energy transition and the critical role of minerals, global financial recovery, financial inclusion and digital payments, and the impact of technology on education and development.
