PERUPETRO SA began the preparation of the citizen participation process in lots I, VI and Z-69 (Talara), as a preliminary step to call for a selection process of new operators and, in this way, incorporate private investment to boost production oil in the northwest of the country.

Lots I, VI and Z-69 currently have License Contracts for a term of two years or until the effective date of a new Contract for the Exploitation of Hydrocarbons, whichever occurs first.

PERUPETRO, in advance, has begun the preparation of citizen participation, a process that includes several stages to guarantee timely and adequate information to the population, as well as channel their observations regarding the projects to be developed.

According to the schedule defined by PERUPETRO, from May 13 to July 18, citizen participation in lots I, VI and Z-69 will be implemented.

The citizen participation process includes: identification of actors, raising perceptions, meetings with institutions linked to the process, prior meetings with local authorities, calling for unions, grassroots organizations, civil society and the general population to face-to-face events, in order to ensure the broadest participation of all interested.

Lot I has a production of 490 barrels of oil per day on average, while Lot VI records a production of 1,970 barrels per day. In the case of Lot Z-69, it records a production of 5,000 barrels of oil per day on average and 13.8 million standard cubic feet per day (MMPCD) of natural gas.

PERUPETRO, in addition, has been carrying out intensive promotion of said lots to investors, in order to arouse their interest in participating in an upcoming process to select companies that show the best economic, social and environmental conditions, to operate the Northwest lots for a new 30-year contract.
