Perupetro signs license contract for lot X with new operator that will invest US$ 800 million

PERUPETRO SA signed with the consortium Offshore International Group INC, Aguaytía Energy del Perú SRL, Termoselva SRL and Petroperú SA, the License Contract for the Exploitation of Hydrocarbons in Lot X (Talara), for a period of 30 years.

Through Supreme Decree No. 008-2024-EM, published yesterday, Sunday, May 19, 2024, the Executive Branch authorized PERUPETRO to sign the new Contract. Lot X was operated until yesterday by the company CNPC Perú.

The company Petroperú SA will have a 40 percent participation in the License Agreement.

SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT FUND

Furthermore, according to the new Contract model promoted by PERUPETRO, Lot X will have a Social Development Fund, intended for the execution of projects that directly benefit the population located in the area of influence of the lot.

Said Fund will be established with the contribution of 1.5 percent of the valuation of the audited production of Lot X and will be administered through a private trust.

In this way, PERUPETRO ensures the continuity of oil production in the Northwest of the country and promotes the sustainable development of the hydrocarbon sector, for the benefit of all Peruvians.
