Petrobras cleared to export LNG

State-run oil firm Petrobras received authorization from Brazil’s energy ministry to export up to 6.6Mm3 of LNG, according to a note in the country’s official gazette.

The company can sell excess LNG in the spot market as long as the internal market is fully supplied. Cargo can exit the country through the regasification terminals in Rio de Janeiro, Bahia and Ceará states. Monthly sales will have to be reported to oil and gas regulator ANP.

The clearance is valid until July 2021.

ALVOPETRO PIPELINE AUTHORIZATION 

In a related note, ANP published in the official gazette on Friday the authorization for Alvopetro to build a gas pipeline in Bahia state. The unit will connect the Cardeal do Nordeste, Caburé and Caburé Leste fields and the REC-T-212 exploration block to a gas processing unit on Mata de São João city. The pipeline is part of an integrated project for gas production and thermopower generation under areservoir-to-wire model.
