Petrobras contracting services for Amazon operations

Brazil’s federal oil company Petrobras has launched a tender to hire technical engineering services and preparation of conceptual, basic and executive projects for its Amazon exploration and production unit (UN-AM). 

The contract includes support and management of equipment and piping, civil safety, instrumentation, processing, industrial safety, electrical, planning and automation projects, covering control and execution and support. 

It is also planned to provide studies and issue engineering documents using specific software, such as flexibility analysis, structural analysis, and modeling and simulation of the electrical system.

The services must be carried out in Amazonas state’s capital Manaus and in Coari, where Petrobras operates several E&P concessions, including the Urucu hub, Brazil’s main onshore oil and gas producer, in the Solimões basin. 

The tender documents are available on procurement website Petronect, under ID number 7004269845.

The tender notice said that Urucu has high-voltage substations, which incur risks related to activities involving electricity and the operational area, and that its surroundings are exposed to explosions because of activities carried out at the site. 

"Given the characteristics of the unit, the services to be carried out are exposed to flammable products, explosives or electrical energy," the company said.
