Petrobras drilling new well off Brazil's coast
Brazil's federal oil company Petrobras has started drilling a new well off the coast of Espírito Santo state, according to oil and gas regulator ANP.
Well 1-BRSA-1393-ESS (or 1-ESS-230, which is how Petrobras names it) is being drilled by Foresea's Norbe IX rig at a depth of 2,848m.
The activitiy is carried out in Espírito Santo basin block ES-M-673, acquired in the ANP's 11th bidding round.
Petrobras operates the asset and holds an 80% stake, in partnership with Enauta (20%).
This is at least the second offshore well drilled by Petrobras in the Espírito Basin this year. In April, the state-run firm began re-entering the 1-BRSA-1391-ESS well in block ES-M-596.
