Petrobras output falls 0.5% in October

Brazilian federal energy company Petrobras (NYSE: PBR) produced a total of 2,087 million barrels of oil equivalent a day (mboe/d) of oil and natural gas in October this year, the company said in a statement. The amount is 14% greater in than October 2002 and up 0.5% from September 2003. Output from Brazilian wells fell 1.3% to 1.795mboe/d in October from the previous month. The main reason for this decrease was operational problems in the P-18 platform in the Marlim field, but the problems have already been solved, the statement said. Outside Brazil, Petrobras production rose 13.3% to 292,600boe/d in October due to increased output in Argentina, Ecuador and Venezuela. Natural gas production in Brazil totaled 41.6mcm/d in October and abroad 16.4mcm/d.
