Petrobras to buy new Salesforce, Automation Anywhere solutions

Brazil’s federal oil giant Petrobras launched two tenders for the acquisition of software from US companies Salesforce and Automation Anywhere, with licenses and support services.

Salesforce is the global leader in customer relationship management (CRM) software, which stores information about a company’s current and potential clients, such as name, address and phone number, as well as customer activities and points of contact.

Automation Anywhere, for its part, is one of the main providers of robotic process automation (RPA), a software technology that uses bots to automate different repetitive tasks.

Petrobras already has solutions from both companies. 

With Automation Anywhere, for example, the company reportedly saw savings of US$120mn in just three weeks with the deployment of a new genAI solution.

In Latin America, Automation Anywhere has around 600 clients, which include other Brazilian heavyweights such as Vale and Eletrobras.

Launched in the second half of January, the tender for Automation Anywhere solutions is for Petrobras’ transportation unit Transpetro. 

Specifically, the company is seeking the RPA tools Control Room, Bot Runners and Bot Creators. Bids can be submitted until February 6.

Salesforce

The tender for Salesforce software is also for Transpetro, which already has Salesforce functionalities deployed. This implementation began in phases, with the first stage involving the deployment of a pilot that included functionalities from the Sales Cloud and Service Cloud modules. Phase 2 expanded these functionalities with the creation of a customer portal. 

The current tender is for phase 3 and would include the Salesforce Configure Price and Quote (CPQ) and the Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) modules.

The tender was initially scheduled to take place in December but was postponed. The deadline for receiving proposals is now February 19.
