Petroecuador inks solar software deal
Ecuador’s national oil company Petroecuador has signed a contract to advance the incorporation of solar capacity into its operations.
Procurement information shows that local firm Aleminsa was selected to provide specialized software to carry out feasibility, basic engineering, and detailed studies for photovoltaic systems.
Aleminsa has 30 days to supply the software, known as PV*SOL, and the contract includes technical support for six months.
Petroecuador’s project management office authorized the tender after highlighting that a prefeasibility study was completed and approved for a project to implement a solar array at the Cuenca fuel terminal, but pointing out that calculations were done manually.
Renovaenergia was the other bidder in the process, a second call for which was issued in June.
