Petroecuador issues refinery consultancy call
Ecuador’s national oil company Petroecuador has launched bidding to provide consultancy services related to its Esmeraldas (110,000b/d), La Libertad (45,000b/d) and Shushufindi (20,000b/d) refineries.
The work entails carrying out prefeasibility and conceptual engineering for the modernization and expansion of the plants’ fire control systems.
The NOC highlights that Esmeraldas’ fire control system dates to the refinery’s startup in the 1970s, while La Libertad and Shushufindi entered service in 1940 and 1987, respectively.
The three refineries have undergone varying levels of overhauls, with a call underway to bring in a private operator for Esmeraldas.
Offers for the US$1.5mn, 180-day contract are due by July 5, according to procurement information.
