Power dispatch project enters Honduras procurement pipeline
Honduras power regulator CREE approved bidding rules for a transmission project to reinforce dispatch in the departments of El Paraíso and Olancho.
The planned infrastructure is the sectioning of the 230kV line L612/L613: Zamorano II-Danlí II-Terrero Blanco.
The project is part of national dispatch center CND’s 2024-33 transmission grid expansion plan (PERT), available here.
The PERT highlights that voltage levels and the extensive lengths of circuits in zones of the departments are impacting the transport of electricity.
The roadmap adds that grid conditions limit output of the 104MW Patuca III hydro to 77MW.
State power company Enee submitted procurement information to the watchdog in July and is now authorized to launch an international tender for the project, CREE information shows.
Enee also has bidding underway for the 230kV Negrito-Yoro II-Arenales-Coyoles Central II-Reguleto line in Yoro department.
According to the latest data from CND, maximum demand in June hit 1,874MW, up 6.7% year on year.
