Powerchina to develop solar power in Panama
Powerchina release
On Dec 18, POWERCHINA met with Sajalices Energy Co at its regional headquarters in Panama to sign the EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) contract for the 530-megawatt Sajalices Photovoltaic Project.
Counselor Zhou Quan of the Chinese Embassy in Panama stated that POWERCHINA has achieved remarkable results in renewable energy and that both sides will cooperate sincerely and jointly to make the photovoltaic project a model for China-Panama renewable energy cooperation.
Zhang Guolai, general manager of POWERCHINA Americas, said the signing marks another important achievement in POWERCHINA's deepening Latin American market presence and its implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative.
He added that, once completed, the project will significantly enhance Panama's clean energy supply, contribute to its carbon neutrality goals, promote regional economic development, and create numerous job opportunities.
The Sajalices Photovoltaic Project includes the design, procurement, construction, installation, commissioning, trial operation, handover, performance testing, and defect rectification of the photovoltaic field, boosting station, and transmission lines.
