Praxair's South American sales grow in Q3
US industrial gases producer Praxair reported third quarter South American sales of US$523mn, up 8% year-on-year.
The increase, which excludes a 2% negative currency impact, was due to higher overall pricing and modestly higher volumes primarily driven by food and beverage, healthcare and manufacturing end-markets, Praxair said in a results release.
Global third quarter net income was US$447mn, a 6% year-on-year increase.
Total third quarter sales were US$3.14bn, up 4% from same-period 2013.
Praxair expects total global sales of between US$12.3bn and US$12.4bn for full-year 2014.
