Procurement begins to advance Dominica geothermal project
Dominica Geothermal Development (DGD) has issued a call for expressions of interest for the power transmission component of the country’s 10MW geothermal project.
The plan is to launch tenders for the design, supply and installation of four new substations, and the accompanying lines.
BNamericas previously reported that DGD expected to begin the procurement this year.
The World Bank is helping finance the project, with documents due by July 28, according to information available here.
DGD recently completed flow testing of a backup production well, and “all signs point to the fact this test was a success,” DGD mechanical engineer Dalton Eloi said.
Icelandic companies JRG and Ísor are helping the Caribbean island nation with the project.
In April, Dominica’s government and DGD signed a hydrogen production agreement with Kenesjay Green.
