Procurement in the pipeline for Ecuador upstream hydrocarbons acreage

Enap Sipetrol, a subsidiary of Chile’s national oil company Enap, plans to launch tenders in the near term for its Ecuador upstream acreage.

The work will target blocks 46 (Mauro Dávalos Cordero) and 47 (Paraíso, Biguno, Huachito) in the Amazon, company information shows.

This year’s scheduled bidding opportunities include the supply of casing/tubing and drill rigs.

Enap highlights that an average of 12,000ft of tubing are used per well, with 360,000ft purchased in the last three years, and that the rig requirement is for equipment with at least 2,000hp.

In 2025, the operator looks to issue calls to provide integrated drilling services, and the treatment and final disposal of drilling mud and cuttings.

Other tenders lined up for next year include a framework contract for civil and electromechanical works, and the supply of a workover rig.

Last month, Ecuador’s energy and mines ministry and Enap renegotiated the contract for block 46, whereby the company pledged additional investment of US$90mn until 2035.

BNamericas recently reported that Enap led upstream investment in Ecuador for acreage not held by national oil company Petroecuador.

Information from Ecuador’s hydrocarbons regulator shows that Enap Sipetrol led private oil production on August 4 with 27,969b or nearly 30% of this output. Petroecuador production was 354,176b.
