PROINVERSIÓN and Junín Region identify 24 investment initiatives for more than S/ 1,700 million

As part of its decentralized line of action, the Private Investment Promotion Agency – PROINVERSIÓN and authorities of the Junín region identified a portfolio of 24 investment initiatives that could be executed under the mechanisms of Public-Private Partnership (PPP), Projects in Assets (PA) and Works for Taxes (OxI) for an estimated amount of S/ 1,743 million.

The agency organized the “Junín Invierte Forum”, aimed at potential private investors, to promote this portfolio of projects focused on strategic sectors for the region such as health, education, production, irrigation, production, tourism, among others.

The Regional Government of Junín presented five (5) Public-Private Partnership projects in health, education and sanitation. Highlights include a package of three hospitals with an estimated investment of US$ 163 million and the COAR Junín, which requires a reference investment of US$ 34 million.

In addition, seven (7) Asset Projects were promoted, whose investment amounts to approximately US$ 67 million.

The regional authority also presented 10 projects to potential investors under the modality of Works for Taxes, concentrated in education, sanitation, tourism, health and sports, whose investment commitment amounts to S/ 671 million.

In turn, the Provincial Municipality of Tarma presented two (2) Works for Taxes projects, which requires an investment commitment of S/ 17 million.

The executive director of PROINVERSIÓN, José Salardi, highlighted the potential that exists in Junín to develop public-private investments. In the case of Works for Taxes, the region has a maximum limit of up to S/ 1,303 million to execute projects and IOARR, of which the Regional Government has a maximum limit of up to S/ 974.1 million.

The provincial mayor of Tarma, Walter Jiménez, also participated in the event; the deputy manager of Multiannual Investment Programming of the Regional Government of Junín, Dora María Llacza; the director of Decentralized Investments of PROINVERSIÓN, Denisse Miralles; among other officials.

PROINVERSIÓN IN JUNÍN

Currently, PROINVERSIÓN promotes four (4) PPP projects in favor of the Junín region for US$ 436 million, such as the Huancayo – Huancavelica Railway, Huancayo WWTP, Longitudinal de la Sierra Section 4 and the Tarma – Chanchamayo Electrical System (Group 4 of Transmission Plan 2023-2032).

In 22 years of management, PROINVERSIÓN has awarded concessions, for the benefit of the Junín region, five (5) PPP projects in energy and justice for US$ 298 million; as well as three (3) Projects in Telecommunications Assets for US$ 156 million. In addition, thanks to the agency's free technical advice, the awarding of 14 Works for Taxes projects for S/ 115 million was completed.
