The Agency for the Promotion of Private Investment (PROINVERSIÓN) declared the New Central Military Hospital Co-financed Private Initiative viable, within the framework of the National System of Multiannual Programming and Investment Management (invierte.pe).

This is an important milestone in the development of the project as it will allow PROINVERSIÓN to continue with the following phases to incorporate the project into the Private Investment Promotion Process as a Public-Private Association (PPP).

"Our objective is to award the New Military Hospital in an optimized term, for the benefit of more than 270,000 members of the Peruvian Army and their families at the national level," highlighted PROINVERSIÓN Projects Director, María Elena Fernández, who added that the achievement of this important milestone is the result of the joint work of PROINVERSIÓN with the Ministry of Defense and the Peruvian Army, to close health gaps within that institution.

AIM

The adjudication and concession of the private initiative called "Improvement of hospital health care services in Luis Arias Schereiber - Central Military Hospital" aims to design, build, maintain and operate the new hospital; It will be a state-of-the-art hospital considering the most innovative aspects in certifications such as LEED 2009, leadership in energy and sustainable design.

The concession involves the services of the green coat and the gray coat. The green gown includes the comprehensive hemodialysis and laboratory service; while the gray coat is the maintenance and upkeep of facilities, cleaning and disinfection, food provision, parking management, information technology, provision and maintenance of medical equipment, laundry and clothing, security, warehouse management, solid waste disposal , among others.

The new and modern Military Hospital will be located on the same property as the current one (Av. Faustino Sánchez Carrión, block N°1, with Av. Brasil, Cdra. 27 and 28, Jesús María district, Lima), but the latter will be demolished to give way to a new infrastructure and modern and quality services. The initiative also includes the construction of a temporary infrastructure to guarantee the continuity of care for the beneficiaries while the construction of the new hospital lasts.

SUSTAINABILITY

The concession period will be 30 years. The PPP modality will guarantee the sustainability of the services within the framework of a rigorous, supervised and audited contract. In addition, it will allow the private operator to incorporate knowledge, experience, equipment and technology to provide a better service with high quality standards throughout the concession period.
