In the second half of 2024, the Private Investment Promotion Agency (PROINVERSIÓN) plans to award 17 projects, for more than US$ 3,000 million, through the modalities of Public-Private Partnerships and Asset Projects in strategic sectors such as electricity, sanitation , road, railway, health and industrial development.

In this period, the Huancayo – Huancavelica Railway project is part of the portfolio, which requires an estimated investment of US$ 394 million; Puerto Maldonado WWTP Wastewater Treatment Plant (US$ 98 million), Longitudinal de la Sierra Section 4 (US$ 1,180 million) and three electrical transmission groups (2, 3, and 4) made up of 12 projects that require US$ 612 million.

It also includes the Operation and Maintenance project of the Villa el Salvador Hospital (a cost of US$ 154 million) and the Ancón Industrial Park for an investment of US$ 762 million.

The executive director of PROINVERSIÓN, José Salardi, highlighted the renewed dynamism that project awards through PPP and the confidence of investors in the country have been registering.

In this sense, the agency has intensified actions to attract investors and ensure the success of upcoming public tenders.

The good performance projected for the second semester is in line with the good result of the first semester, in which the agency awarded six projects with an investment commitment of US$ 5,070 million; It is the highest investment amount in the last 10 years and more than double everything registered in 2023, US$ 2,332 million.

With this result, PROINVERSIÓN expects to close the year 2024 with 23 projects awarded through public-private investment that will represent a joint investment of US$ 8,000 million.

Between January and June 2024, the agency awarded the Periférico Road Ring megaproject (US$3.4 billion), the construction of the New San Juan de Marcona Port Terminal (US$405 million), Group 1 of three electrical projects (US$329 million) and completed the signing of the addendum between the state company Activos Mineros SAC and the company Fosfatos del Pacifico SA (FOSPAC) for the production of phosphate rock that will require an estimated investment of US$ 940 million.

PERIOD 2025 - 2026

For the period 2025 - 2026, the agency has approximately 70 PPP projects and Asset Projects related to the conservation of the road network, hydrocarbons, telecommunications, sanitation, irrigation, health, among others.
