BANDS FOR 4G

The public act of reception and opening of Envelopes No. 2 and No. 3, and awarding of the good pro of the projects of Radioelectric Spectrum Bands AWS-3 and 2.3 GHz, which have four (4) prequalified bidders, will be held on Friday June 9, 2023.

Both projects, promoted by PROINVERSIÓN on behalf of the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC), are very important for the country, because they will allow a greater number of rural towns nationwide -which currently have no services or only have 2G technology services o 3G- can improve and have 4G mobile services, and thus access more information, with better quality of their communications and receive distance education (tele-education) and telehealth services, which are of vital importance.

The AWS-3 Band is divided into two blocks: Block A of 2x15 MHz and Block B of 2x15 MHz, so that a bidder can present his offer for one or both blocks. For its part, the 2.3 GHz Band maintains a single 30 MHz block.

PUERTO MALDONADO WWTP

The Puerto Maldonado Wastewater Treatment Plant (PTAR Puerto Maldonado) project will be awarded on June 23, 2023, making Madre de Dios the first department in the Peruvian jungle with a modern wastewater treatment plant. This process also has four (4) prequalified bidders (large operators with local experience in wastewater treatment plants in the world).

To date, the Final Version of the Concession Contract has been approved, a crucial step for the presentation of technical and economic offers and awarding of the good deal.

The Puerto Maldonado WWTP project will expand the coverage of the sewerage service with the construction of secondary networks and home connections. Likewise, it will make it possible to treat all the wastewater from the urban area of Tambopata and El Triunfo, contributing to the decontamination of the Tambopata and Madre de Dios rivers, thereby improving the health and quality of life of the population, the environment, tourism and economic activities.

The Puerto Maldonado WWTP, with the Large Cities Project and the Storm Drainage Project (which will be executed under the public works modality), are part of a strategy of the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation to close the gaps in drinking water, sewerage, treatment sewage and stormwater drainage in Puerto Maldonado. Together they represent a total investment of more than S/ 1,000 million.
