PRT sells public telephony assets
Bnamericas Published: Tuesday, November 30, 2004
Puerto Rican fixed line operator PRT has sold the assets of its public telephony division to local operator Choicetel Acquisitions (CAI), local daily El Vocero reported. The decision is in line with the company's strategy of focusing more on high-growth areas such as wireless services, broadband and data transmission, PRT president Cristina Lambert said. The company did not reveal the value of the transaction. CAI is buying all of PRT's public telephones, but PRT will retain all staff that worked in this division and redistribute them to other units.
