Puerto Rico's AAA tenders US$2.7mn water treatment plant improvement works

Puerto Rico's national water authority, AAA, has launched two tenders worth a total of US$2.7mn for water treatment plant improvement works, according to a tender notice published by AAA. The largest tender, at US$1.42mn, involves improving the sedimentation basins and filtration units at the Fajardo water treatment plant. The improvements are expected to benefit 35,000 residents in the Fajardo and Ceiba municipalities. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on May 17 and bids must be submitted by June 18. The second tender consists of compliance improvements to the Barranquitas water treatment plant, including the optimization of water treatment processes and the installation of additional disinfection capacity. The works, expected to cost US$1.28mn, will benefit 6,500 residents in the Barranquitas municipality. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on May 24 and bids must be submitted by June 18.
