Rapidly spreading AI driving LatAm demand for Dynatrace's network management services
The growth of applications around artificial intelligence, especially generative AI, coupled with automation and the deployment of cloud databases, is pushing up demand for security and network management, also known as observability, in Latin America.
“The explosion of data and massive, impressive complexity with cloud, AI and genAI” is increasing network vulnerabilities and accelerating observability needs, Dynatrace’s global CEO, Rick McConnell, told reporters during a press conference in Brazil.
The Massachusetts-based software group is one of the leaders in the field. It competes with companies such as Tenable, Cisco and Datadog. At times, IBM, Microsoft and AWS are competitors or partners depending on the application and the segment.
“There are well over a dozen players in the observability space,” said McConnell, adding that Dynatrace is the best-positioned in Gartner’s recommendation lists.
Roberto Carvalho, the company's regional VP for Latin America, said Dynatrace continues to expand its business in the region.
The group's main clients in Latin America include telcos such as América Móvil, banks like Bradesco and digital wallets such as PicPay.
In Brazil, public sector clients also stand out. Dynatrace has contracts with São Paulo state data processing company Prodesp and with the Rio de Janeiro state court, said Carvalho.
For América Móvil's Claro, Dynatrace is providing an AIOps platform and tools for cloud management, infrastructure and other operations.
Other partners and clients include Microsoft, AWS, Genial Investments and Livelo, said Carvalho.
Dynatrace previously claimed to be growing at around 35-40% annually in Latin America in recent years. The company does not provide hard figures.
“Brazil, Peru, Chile and even Argentina are markets where we've been growing quite strongly in the region. We're hiring in Argentina to meet demand for projects from clients despite the complicated local scenario,” Carvalho told BNamericas in an interview in August last year during the previous government.
