Tendering process
The tender was competitive, with 13 companies participating in the first round. Twelve of them subsequently submitted improvements in a second round. This approach allowed prices to be optimised and the most economical and highest quality offer to be secured.
The total cost of the contract amounts to $1.789 billion, a figure that also represents a reduction of $6.2 million compared to previous contracts. This saving reflects the effective negotiation and careful evaluation of offers, which included quality criteria, associated costs and payment terms.
“ This process not only represents economic savings, but also a strengthening of competition and transparency in our acquisitions ,” said Karla Montero, president of Recope.
With this contract, Recope continues to strengthen its mission of ensuring an efficient and economical supply of fuels for the country, contributing to the energy and financial stability of Costa Rica.
