Red Hat, Logicalis in digital transformation partnership in Latin America
Press release
September 30, 2016
PromonLogicalis, a provider of information technology and communication solutions and services in Latin America, and Red Hat, Inc. (NYSE: RHT), the world's leading provider of open source solutions, announced a collaboration that aim to help organizations navigate the digital transformation of their infrastructures to pave the way for cloud and the software-defined technologies, and to advance open source technology awareness in the region.
Open source is delivering significant advancements in many areas of technology through community-powered innovation, including cloud computing, mobile, big data, and more. And, as companies embrace modern technology as a competitive advantage via digital transformation efforts, many are turning to open source because of the flexibility and agility it can enable.
For more than two decades, Red Hat has been a leader of open source solutions, including its role in emerging open source technologies such as OpenStack, a highly scalable open source cloud platform. Red Hat is an OpenStack leader - both in contributions to the upstream OpenStack community and its work to deliver a production-ready OpenStack platform to enterprise customers. Red Hat OpenStack Platform, a highly scalable, production-ready Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) solution, has emerged as the open source cloud platform of choice for a number of global organizations. By co-engineering with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, organizations can deploy OpenStack on a tested, reliable, and more secure foundation, backed by Red Hat's award-winning enterprise support.
To help customers maximize their OpenStack investments with deployment and value-added services, Red Hat works with a strong ecosystem of partners throughout the world.
Logicalis has decades of experience in the Latin American ICT market, and has been working for some time with open source technologies. Currently, most of the company's digital transformation solutions are already developed on top of open source technologies.
The collaboration with the integrator aims to deliver solutions based on open source technology, including Red Hat OpenStack Platform, to customers. In addition to expanding its portfolio of infrastructure offerings with Red Hat, Logicalis intends to be an open source advisor in the region, helping Red Hat to advance open source awareness.
