The Dominican Oil Refinery (Refidomsa) released the first scientific study that determines that in several basins of the national territory there are the necessary elements for the existence of hydrocarbon deposits.

The report was announced at a press conference by the president of the Board of Directors of Refidomsa, Dr. Leonardo Aguilera, together with the technicians of the Oil and Gas Research and Exploration Unit who carried out the work in the Azua basins. , San Juan, Enriquillo and Cibao.

The work was coordinated by Ramón Cruz and Gregorio Rosario, director and deputy director, respectively, of Refidomsa's Oil and Gas Research and Exploration Unit.
