SPECTRUM

Chilean telecom regulator Subtel approved changes in the channeling of bands for mobile radio communications.

In the case of the 816-819MHz sub-band, the document states that the channeling will be uniform at 25kHz, which corresponds to the minimum separation between two adjacent carrier frequencies.

"However, concessionaires may implement channels with channeling less than 25kHz, within the same bandwidth, as long as such emissions do not interfere with adjacent channels," Subtel said in the document published in the official gazette. The 120 channels that will use these sub-bands will be divided into three blocks, it added.
