Regulation roundup: Spectrum, appointments, fines and more
SPECTRUM
Chilean telecom regulator Subtel approved changes in the channeling of bands for mobile radio communications.
In the case of the 816-819MHz sub-band, the document states that the channeling will be uniform at 25kHz, which corresponds to the minimum separation between two adjacent carrier frequencies.
"However, concessionaires may implement channels with channeling less than 25kHz, within the same bandwidth, as long as such emissions do not interfere with adjacent channels," Subtel said in the document published in the official gazette. The 120 channels that will use these sub-bands will be divided into three blocks, it added.

Of the amount, 1.8mn soles is for failing to comply with the coverage plan for the deployment of LTE in the 700MHz band in 18 population centers, corresponding to the commitment of the fourth year of the concession contract.

Telefónica was the only operator that has presented proposals to Osiptel under the framework of reviewing interconnection charges.
