Ritz Instruments Transformers GmbH expanding high voltage manufacturing facility
Press Release by Ritz Instrument Transformers
The Group of Ritz Instrument Transformers GmbH announced the expansion of their manufacturing facility in Georgia, USA. They will be expanding their HV Instrument Transformer manufacturing capacity in the United States.
Existing manufacturing capacity for Coupling Capacitor Voltage Transformers (CCVTs) in Lavonia, GA will be expanded, adding jobs and additional manufacturing equipment. Ritz will also be opening a new manufacturing facility in Waynesboro, GA for the manufacture and testing of HV Inductive-type Instrument Transformers, including Current Transformers, Voltage Transformers, and Combined Current and Voltage Transformers.
“We are excited to be adding manufacturing capacity for high-voltage inductive instrument transformers in the United States and specifically about returning to Waynesboro, where we previously had a production facility,” Ritz USA CEO and General Manager Scott Flowers said.
“We have been working on this project for well over a year and we look forward to hiring workers from a trained local labor force. The expansion of our HV manufacturing in Lavonia and the new HV facility for inductive units in Waynesboro shows the commitment of our company to serve the North/South American markets with products produced in the United States.”
The existing HV Inductive IT capacity in Europe, which currently serves the North American market, will remain open and the new facility in Waynesboro will be additional capacity.
Ritz opened its first HV IT factory in the US in Waynesboro, GA in 1991, which was later sold in 2006 as part of a broader restructuring of the company. Ritz built a new factory in Lavonia, GA in 2009 to produce LV and MV ITs and expanded that facility in 2016 to produce HV CCVTs.
The Lavonia, GA facility was again expanded in 2019 as Ritz closed one its facilities in Germany and transferred the bulk of that capacity to the US. About Ritz Instrument Transformers Ritz Instrument Transformers is a private company headquartered in Hamburg, Germany with over 1200 employees working in 8 facilities around the world and is a leading manufacturer of instrument transformers and SIS insulated bus systems.
