A total of 10mn bulbs will be provided free of charge and save 17.4MW, said the hydrocarbons and energy ministry, adding that the 8.5mn-bulb, first stage in 2008-09 helped save 72MW. *** Belize Electricity ( BEL) said it will lift the injunction granted by the supreme court that prevented the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) from making adjustments to rates or take any regulatory action in relation to the 2008 PUC final tariff decision. "With the lifting of the injunction, the PUC will be able to adjust electricity rates to reflect the current cost of power and other operational realities," BEL said in a statement. In June, the government expropriated Fortis' (TSX: FTS) approximate 70% stake in the utility. *** And Dynamis Energy and Planova launched a partnership to pursue waste-to-energy opportunities in Argentina, Brazil and Peru.
