In line with its mergers and acquisitions strategy to increase its renewable distributed generation capacity and serve the market, RZK Energia this week concluded the acquisition of four new photovoltaic plants from Solar Gold Brasil. Located in the municipalities of Monte Aprazível (SP), Linhares (ES), Rondonópolis (MT) and Aparecida do Taboado (MS), the newly incorporated assets add around 4 megawatts of installed power (MWp) to the company's portfolio, which reaches now 28 projects in operation in 2024, including solar and biogas plants.

In continuous operation, RZK Energia's acquisitions currently have long-term allocation contracts in force to supply financial institutions and food and beverage companies in their respective locations, totaling 70 million reais.

According to Luiz Serrano, CEO and Managing Partner of RZK Energia, the integration of the new plants into the company's portfolio takes place within investment plans and the search for greater synergy in the offering of services and technologies for energy efficiency and consumption management. “The company's strategy expands into end customer service through long-term plant rental contracts, providing significant cost savings for customers. With the distribution of new operational plants and these recent acquisitions, we consolidated our growth and positioned ourselves as a major player in the market and generated synergies. Our focus, looking to the future, is to be a complete energy generation and trading platform, in addition to account management and auditing, always with an emphasis on customer service,” he states.

Through acquisitions, RZK Energia has already added more than ten assets to its portfolio, in addition to greenfield projects, since 2021. “We have methodology, processes, people and systems to carry out M&A operations, integrating the assets into our base. This is trivial in a business that is on the verge of sectoral consolidation, but the standardization of this process makes us more agile in completing acquisitions, becoming a differentiator for RZK Energia”, says Serrano.

Expansion of RZK Energia in the energy market

Taking into account the plants in operation and those under construction, RZK Energia's renewable energy generation capacity is 220 megawatts. The company currently serves around 15,000 consumer units in distributed generation through its own assets and another 200 in the free contracting environment.

Last year, RZK Energia had 15 new plants added to its portfolio, reaching 130 MWp in installed capacity and 28 owned and managed projects based on renewable sources, including photovoltaics (23) and biogas (5). These plants mainly service large companies in their most diverse operations, such as TIM, Claro, Oi, Raia Drogasil, Santander, FIT and Smartfit, among other clients.

“Furthermore, to create more opportunities to reduce costs and facilitate energy management in an accessible and transparent way, we develop and encourage partnerships in technology, which strengthens our performance on other fronts, such as specialized consultancy in energy efficiency, training of autonomous agents and provision of digital tools for purchasing, monitoring and managing energy consumption for our customers. In companies based on technology and service provision, more than 250,000 invoices are already managed per month,” explains Luiz Serrano, CEO of RZK Energia.
