Sanepar presents US$1.7bn investment plan

Paraná state water utility Sanepar plans to invest 7.1bn reais (US$1.76bn) through 2023 in the expansion of its sewage network. Currently, 100% of the urban population served by the company receives treated water, while 72.8% access sewage services.

The newly announced plan is more ambitious than the previous one, which included 5bn reais over seven years, according to Sanepar.

"We have already anticipated increasing investments to expand our services because we know the importance of sanitation for health,“ Sanepar CEO Claudio Stabile said.

Sanepar will invest 1.2bn reais in 2019 and 1.56bn reais next year. Annual investments from 2021 to 2023 are respectively 1.49bn reais, 1.51bn reais, and 1.33bn reais.
