São Paulo receives 13 offers to complete construction of 2 dams

São Paulo state received 13 proposals in tenders to complete construction of two dams in Campinas that will require combined investment of up to 976mn reais (US$190mn).

Organized by the Brazilian state’s water and electric power department (DAEE), the tenders are to finish building the Pedreira dam on the Jaguari river and Duas Pontes on the Camanducaia river.

Estimated maximum investment is 584mn reais for Pedreira, on the border of the municipalities of Pedreira and Campinas, and 392mn reais for Duas Pontes in Amparo.

The winners will be companies or consortiums that offer the lowest price. 

Six consortiums presented offers for the Pedreira works and seven for Duas Pontes. The resumption of work on the two dams will bring water security to 5.5mn people in 27 municipalities in the region. 

"Deciding the consortiums that will take on the works depends on the qualification analysis of the competing companies. The process aims to ensure that companies have the legal, tax, labor, economic and technical conditions to complete the work on time and at the price presented," the state government said in a release. 

"The contracts are expected to be signed in July. Construction will take 22 months, the result of an investment that has international financing from the Andean Development Corporation (CAF), the development bank of Latin America," it added.

The proposals are as follows: 

Pedreira dam 

Consortium Barragem Pedreira – formed by Construtora Marquise, PB Construções and R. Furlani Engenharia – offered a price of 475mn reais.

Consortium Construtor Pedreira – comprising Álya Construtora and Engemat-Engenharia de Materiais – offered 500mn.

Consortium DCA-Barragem Pedreira, comprising DP Barros Pavimentação e Construção, Codrasa Construções and Ankara Engenharia, offered 543mn reais.

Consortium MLC-Passareli, formed by MLC Infra Construção and Passarelli Engenharia e Construção, offerd 582mn reais.

Consortium TT Pedreira, comprising TCE Engenharia Ltda and Construtora Triunfo, offered 547mn reais.

Tecpav Engenharia offered 643mn reais.

Duas Pontes 

A consortium formed by Tecpav Engenharia, Heca Construtora and Construtora Etama offered 368mn reais.

The consortium comprising Construtora Marquise, PB Construções and R. Furlani Engenharia offerd 331mn reais.

A consortium comprising Carioca Christiani-Nielsen Engenharia, GCR Construções and Construtora Colares Linhares offered 383mn reais.

Álya Construtora and Engemat offered 380mn reais.

A consortium formed by DP Barros Pavimentação e Construção, Codrasa Construções and Ankara Engenharia offered 388mn reais.

Conata Engenharia, Novatec Construções e Empreendimentos and Infracom Engenharia e Comércio offered 384mn reais.

Nova Engevix Engenharia e Projetos and ETC Empreendimentos e Tecnologia em Construções offered 380mn reais.
