São Paulo state plans PPP tender to build new govt offices
São Paulo state said it is planning a tender for a PPP contract to build the government’s new administrative center, which will also include maintenance.
The complex will be the headquarter of all state agencies and is part of governor Tarcísio de Freitas' plan to revitalize the state capital’s central area, which has suffered from years of deterioration. The current administrative center is in the Morumbi neighborhood in the western part of the city.
“The administrative center is an important project for the government as we believe it will generate occupancy changes in the central area," said Edgard Benozatti, CEO of the state’s partnerships company (CPP), in a statement.
The tender notice is expected to be published in the first half of 2025 and the auction will be held in the second half.
The project is part of the São Paulo investment partnerships program (PPI-SP), which currently counts 24 projects worth more than 470 billion reais (US$83bn) in multiple areas, including sanitation, roads and urban mobility. The state government has an ambitious PPP and concessions agenda that is seeking to attract private investors to a wide range of projects.
