Savannah, Norfolk to handle exports

The ports of Savannah, Georgia and Norfolk, Virginia will become the 12th and 13th US ports to handle exports to Cuba, under the US government's Trade Sanctions Reform and Export Enhancement Act of 2000. The ports will handle foodstuffs and agricultural products, including soy and corn oil, chicken, wheat, corn, rice and "branded" foods, newsletter Economic Eye on Cuba reported. The other US ports authorized to directly export to Cuba are Mobile, Alabama, Manatee, Port Everglades and Jacksonville, Florida, Lake Charles and New Orleans, Louisiana, Houston, Galveston, Freeport and Beaumont, Texas and Newark, New Jersey.
