Scotiabank plans expansion, new tech platform in 2004

Scotiabank de Puerto Rico plans to open four new branches in 2004 and continue the roll out of its new interactive IT platform, local daily El Nuevo Dia quoted senior commercial banking VP Thomas Johnson as saying. The platform allows debit card users to request loans in addition to making normal ATM transfers, he said, adding that the ATM will become a point of sale for a range of products that might be of interest to clients.
