LUXEMBOURG - The Peruvian Air Force (FAP) is using SES' high-throughput geostationary orbit (GEO) satellite solution to improve connectivity of its Air Force bases and enhance operations across the country, SES announced today.
Under the agreement, SES is providing a comprehensive solution including the delivery and installation of communications hardware, as well as training and enabling FAP to explore all the possibilities and enhancements that the High Throughput Satellite (HTS) can offer. SES-14’s wide beams and high-performance spot beams will enable the FAP to use them in a wide range of operations and achieve mission success, ensuring its air fleet stays connected no matter how remote the operations. In particular, HTS’s flexible beams will provide high-performance round-trip connectivity for real-time information exchange.
“We are pleased to have found a partner in Luxembourg-based SES, which has decades of experience in providing high-performance, high-capacity connectivity services to governments around the world. This allows us to advance our digital transformation ambitions thanks to the most advanced satellite technology,” said General Marcos Francisco Robles Bocanegra, Director of Telematics for the Peruvian Air Force. “Real-time connectivity for the Air Force is a game-changer, as it allows for informed decisions to be made in a timely manner.”
“We are excited to apply SES’s expertise in government and defense to deliver a fully integrated solution that meets the FAP’s demanding connectivity requirements and meets a challenging deployment schedule. A core part of the solution is SES-14, a GEO HTS, which was already delivering its efficiency for aeronautical applications. We are thrilled that the FAP is now using SES-14 to better connect its bases and pilots,” said Omar Trujillo, Vice President of Enterprise Americas at SES.
