Seven groups prequalify to supervise US$100mn Paraguay power project
Paraguay’s state power company Ande has prequalified seven groups to oversee the 500kV, US$100mn Yguazú-Valenzuela transmission project.
The potential bidders are Integral, Consorcio Cointec-Nippon Koei-Electropar, Consorcio Tranelsa-Atec-Iatasa, Consorcio AT Applus-ACI-Contec, Consorcio Binacional Yguazú (Electroconsult del Paraguay-Ingenieros Consultores de Estudios y Proyectos), Consorcio CTA Valenzuela (Concremat Engenharia e Tecnología-Técnica y Proyectos-Asistencia Integral de Ingeniería) and Consorcio Vitoria (Consultora Paraguaya-Nova Engevix Engenharia e Projetos).
The companies now have until February 26 to submit offers for the US$7mn contract which covers the project’s technical, environmental and social aspects. Prequalification began in June.
BNamericas reported in December that Ande selected Rieder y Cia. and Concret-Mix to build the 200km line and expand the Yguazú substation, respectively.
IDB and the Japan International Cooperation Agency have provided financing for the infrastructure which will cross Alto Paraná, Caaguazú, Guairá and Cordillera departments and is due to take 26 months to complete.
