Shell finds more gas traces in Brazil
Shell Brasil has found more natural gas traces off Brazil's southeast coast, according to data from the local oil and gas regulator ANP.
The signs of hydrocarbons were identified in Campos basin block C-M-659 through the drilling of well 1-SHEL-35A-RJS, in waters 2,940m deep.
The asset was awarded in the 16th concession bidding round, conducted by the ANP in 2019.
Shell is the operator of the area with a 40% stake, with Chevron (35%) and QPI Brasil (25%) as partners.
This is the second gas trace found by Shell in C-M-659, following first evidence reported in August.
In total, operators have reported 13 oil and/or gas trace finds to the ANP so far this year.
