Shell negotiates 2nd Campos cargo

The Brazilian division of UK oil company Royal Dutch Shell (NYSE: SC) is negotiating the sale of its second cargo of oil, after starting 20,000 barrels a day (b/d) production in August from eight wells in the Campos basin's Bijupira and Salema oil fields. The division's first cargo was a 600,000b shipment to Chile at end-September, making it only the second company, after federal energy company Petrobras, to export from Brazil. Market sources say the Chile shipment was worth US$17mn, although Shell has not commented on the price. The second cargo is expected to be larger than the first, and although negotiations have not been completed, Petrobras could be a buyer depending on the price offered, a Shell spokesperson told BNamericas. "It would be better if we were to sell the oil internally," the spokesperson said. Bijupira and Salema, which are connected by three subsea manifolds to the Fluminense floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) tanker, are owned on an 80-20 basis by Shell and Petrobras.
