Sinohydro among bidders after 50MW Honduras solar contract
Honduras’ state power company Enee received four offers to develop 50MW of solar capacity.
The bidders were Consorcio Representaciones Mecánico Eléctricas-Energía PD (US$43.8mn), Consorcio SYE (Sinohydro-Equipos Industriales, US$48mn), Consorcio Promotora Desarrollos Inmobiliarios (US$44.8mn) and Consorcio Refasa (Reyca Aire-Aéreo Impex-Flores y Flores Ingeniería, US$48.1mn).
The work entails the installation and startup of photovoltaic parks for 47MW and 2.5MW in the municipality of Terrero Blanco, Olancho department, and associated transmission infrastructure.
The contract also includes a 510kWp solar array and battery storage system at the 104MW Patuca hydro which was built by Sinohydro.
The solar call was issued in June.
Enee also has bidding underway to update the 80MW Los Llanitos hydro project as part of the planned 210MW Jicatuyo complex.
