São Paulo, November 16, 2023 – Starting today, SKY FIBRA is available in Belo Horizonte, Salvador and São Paulo. The availability of fiber optic broadband internet service in these capitals and other municipalities is part of the product coverage expansion project. The initiative was made possible by the wide presence in these cities of the infrastructure of I-Systems, a company specializing in neutral fiber optic networks, which can be used simultaneously by several ISPs and operators.

“The partnership with I-System is part of the strategy of SKY and VRIO, the operator's holding company, to advance the coverage of the fiber optic service offering, which increases the value proposition of the products offered to customers and aims to reduce the digital divide in Brazil and Latin America,” said Rodrigo Fernandes, broadband director at SKY.

Through the partnership, SKY FIBRA is already present in Brasília-DF, Jaboatão dos Guararapes, Olinda, Recife, in Pernambuco; Anápolis, Aparecida de Goiânia, Goiânia, in Goiás. In Bahia, the municipalities of Camaçari, Feira de Santana and Lauro de Freitas also have the service available from tomorrow. Some cities in the São Paulo Metropolitan Region - Guarulhos, Diadema, Poá, Francisco Morato, Franco da Rocha, Mauá, Taboão da Serra and Suzano - and the municipality of Limeira also now have coverage. I-Systems is the only neutral fiber optic network that covers practically the entire Greater São Paulo region.

“Offering our internet services in large cities reinforces the commitment of SKY and the Werthein Group, owner of Vrio, to make investments in Brazil to position us as a national operator also in the connectivity product. The infrastructure shared by I-Systems is ideal for us to offer the end consumer a secure connection, with high speed and stability,” said Gustavo Fonseca, President of SKY.

To date, 41 cities and municipalities are covered by the I-Systems network, covering a population of around 45 million people. “It is with great pride that we contribute to this clear expansion of SKY FIBRA, which will allow the large populations of the most important Brazilian capitals and metropolitan regions, where we are present, to count on its excellence in service, technology and connectivity solutions,” said Daniel Cardoso, CEO of I-Systems.

By using I-Systems' fiber optic network, SKY gains agility in expansion, as it does not need to invest in its own network, and speed in activating each city, thanks to I-Systems' API-first philosophy. The plans are 200 Mbps, 400 Mbps and 600 Mbps, with initial promotional values of R$79.90, R$89.90 and R$119.90, respectively. SKY FIBRA can also be purchased with DGO, an online live TV and streaming platform, for R$ 139.80 (400 Mbps) and R$ 159.80 (600 Mbps) in the first 12 months. The application, which belongs to Vrio Corp., the same parent company as SKY, has more than 70 channels with 10,000 on-demand contents. The entire installation at customers' homes is carried out by the SKY team, from the fiber drop (connection from the pole to the house) to the box inside the home.
