Snapshot: The FPSO schedule of Brazil's Petrobras

Bnamericas

Brazilian federal oil giant Petrobras is working to bring forward the startup of some of its FPSOs, but there are cases subject to delay.

On Tuesday, the Maria Quitéria FPSO started operating in the Jubarte field in the pre-salt of the Campos basin, in the area known as Parque das Baleias.

With capacity to produce up to 100,000b/d, the unit was initially scheduled to start operating in 2025.

The state-run firm now intends to put the Almirante Tamandaré FPSO to work ahead of schedule, at the end of this year or in January.

With capacity to produce 225,000b/d, the platform will be installed in the Búzios pre-salt field in the Santos basin.

Also this year, the Marechal Duque de Caxias (100,000b/d) will come online in the Mero field, also in the Santos basin. But that is as originally scheduled.

Petrobras’ current business plan foresees the startup of another 10 FPSOs by 2028:

– Alexandre de Gusmão (180,000b/d) in 2025

– P-78 (180,000b/d) in 2025

– P-79 (180,000b/d) in 2026

– P-80 (225,000b/d) in 2026

– P-82 (225,000b/d) in 2027

– P-83 (225,000b/d) in 2027

– Albacora (120,000b/d) in 2027

– Barracuda/Caratinga (100,000b/d) in 2028

– Sergipe Deepwater (SEAP) I and II (120,000b/d) in 2028

The last two platforms may be delayed due to difficulties in the contracting process.

Petrobras intends to launch the new tender to hire the construction of these FPSOs by November.

SEAP involves the transport of 18Mm3/d of natural gas to the shore via a new pipeline, which makes the project relatively expensive.
