Uruguay's state-owned biofuels company Alur will this week export its first shipment of biodiesel produced from used frying oil under the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification system.
The 100,000l of fuel will be sent to Holland following a deal with Dutch firm Argos, the Uruguayan government said in a statement.
Europe values this type of biodiesel versus that obtained from other feedstock, according to Alur's oleaginous and derivatives business unit manager, Nicolás Ferrari.
