Bolivia road tender

Road authority ABC launched a 562 million-boliviano (US$81.3mn) tender to build 61.8km of roads in Oruro department, mostly funded by Latin American development bank CAF.

The project involves paving two road sections. The first is between La Joya and Chuquichambi, and the between Huayllamarca and Totora. The contract also includes the construction of two bridges, according to CAF documents. 

Bids for the contracts will be opened on October 2. 

The bidding documents can be seen in public procurement system Sicoes using the contract code (CUCE) 24-0291-00-1470071-1-1. 

Electric buses in Valparaíso

Valparaíso region will receive 600 new buses, of which 250 will be electric, under an upcoming tender to renew the operations of 41 bus services in five municipalities, including the region’s namesake capital.

This involves renewing a third of the existing bus fleet in the Greater Valparaíso area, according to the transport ministry (MTT), which published the details of the tender on Friday.

Under this model, the State will provide the terminals and the bus charging infrastructure, while also establishing a new payment scheme for operators.

Uruguay road

Rehabilitation works on an 82km stretch of route 6 in Durazno department between the north and south of the country have been concluded, and the repaired road will be reopened on Saturday by the transport and public works ministry (MTOP).

The project, which required a 1.2 billion-peso (US$29.7mn) investment, was carried out by Meliter and was divided into two sections, the MTOP said in a release.

The first was 45km long and links Casa Sainz to Camino de La Cuchilla. The second is 37km long and runs from Camino de La Cuchilla to bridge 329, which links Durazno and Tacuarembó departments on the Negro river.
