Spanish firms eyeing Paraguay infra projects
At least eight Spanish companies are interested in developing infrastructure projects in Paraguay, according to public works ministry MOPC.
The companies are looking into road work, water treatment and airport modernization projects, the ministry said in a statement. Three of the firms have taken part in Paraguayan tenders and all have developed previous projects in Latin America.
Paraguay is encouraging infrastructure investment under the framework of its public-private partnership (PPP) law.
The country is currently executing 154 infrastructure projects totaling a record of US$600mn for 2014.
