Spanish group secures dispatch concessions for Peru solar, wind projects
Peru’s energy and mines ministry has granted temporary power transmission concessions to special purpose companies controlled by Madrid-based Ignis.
Empresa de Generación Eléctrica Alba and Empresa de Generación Eléctrica Blanca picked up concessions for the 220kV lines Alba-San José and Blanca-San José, respectively, which would connect solar projects Alba and Blanca to the grid.
A third concession went to Zapote for the 220kV Zapote-Felam line, which would link the 164MW Zapote wind project to the grid.
The companies requested the concessions in January and now have 24 months to carry out feasibility studies.
The solar parks are planned for the southern region of Arequipa and the wind farm in the northern region of Lambayeque.
