The Superintendency of Public Services appointed this Friday in Bogotá the lawyer Edwin Palma Egea as the intervening agent of the Air-e Company.

Palma Egea is a specialist in Labor Law from the Universidad Libre de Colombia, a specialist in Constitutional Law and a Master in Labor Law from the Universidad Externado de Colombia. He has conducted studies for Latin American Experts in Labor Relations at the University of Castilla–La Mancha, in Spain. In addition, he has been a university professor and columnist.

The new special agent worked for Ecopetrol in different roles for more than 20 years and, until August 2024, served as Deputy Minister of Labor Relations and Inspection of the Ministry of Labor, and is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Ecopetrol. His work focus has been on topics such as administration, public policy, human resources, corporate governance, environment and the energy sector.

Palma Egea will lead the intervention of the Air-e company, which was taken over by Superservicios in September 2024, when it was determined that it did not have the technical, operational, administrative and financial capacity to provide energy service to the inhabitants of the departments of Atlántico, La Guajira and Magdalena. Among the main challenges he will face are the stabilization of the service and the implementation of fair rates for the region.
