Survías submits EIS for Talca-Chillán highway bridges
Highway concessionaire Survías submitted an environmental impact study (EIS) involving a US$29.9 million investment in 18 bridges on the Talca-Chillán section of route 5 in central-south Chile.
The works involve replacing 13 bridges and building five new ones between the municipalities of Villa Alegre (Maule region) and Chillán Viejo (Ñuble), according to the EIS submitted to environmental review agency SEA.

Survías, a subsidiary of China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC), won the US$753mn concession for the 195km section in 2021.
Upgrade works include a 56km bypass and widening 30km of the existing road. Other works entail 19 new bridges, 39km of bicycle lanes, 12 access roads and 39km of service lanes.
