Taiwanese company socializes progress for the installation of the electric bus factory in Paraguay

The Vice Minister of Industry, Lorena Méndez, held a meeting with directors of the Taiwanese firm Máster Bus and representatives of the Taiwanese embassy in Paraguay, with whom she spoke about the short-term progress and challenges, as well as the processes carried out for the installation of the firm in Paraguay.

The project involves an investment of around USD 30 million and the creation of between 2,000 and 2,500 direct jobs, in addition to benefiting a significant number of local suppliers.

Vice Minister Méndez highlighted that, among the points socialized, there are 14 vacancies for internships in Taiwan opened by the firm and intended for students of the Universidad Politécnica Paraguay – Taiwan (UPTP), so that they can acquire practical experience in the operation from a bus company for a period of 6 months.

Furthermore, Méndez highlighted that the directors and specialists of the Master Bus company, according to the pre-established schedule, continue to hold a series of meetings and work meetings with both the public sector, including with vice ministers who make up the Ministry of Public Works and Communications ( MOPC), and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.

They also held meetings with representatives from the private sector in order to share experiences in electric mobility, infrastructure and logistics, maintenance services, parts production, among others, according to the most convenient, effective and comprehensive business model.

The vice president of Master Bus, Mr. Terence Shen, was present at the meeting and was accompanied by Raúl Chan, Commercial Attaché and Antonella Silvera, who are part of the diplomatic corps of the Embassy of Taiwan in Paraguay and the general director of Industrial Policy of the MIC, Aníbal Giménez.
