Teck Cominco, Wheaton River update Morelos Norte exploration

Vancouver-based Teck Cominco (TSX. TEKb) and Wheaton River (TSX: WRM, Amex: WHT) have announced the results of the 2004 exploration program at their Morelos Norte (El Limón) joint venture project in Mexico's Guerrero State. A total of 38 holes totaling 5,800m were completed as part of the project, consisting of 25 holes at the Los Guajes West zone and 13 holes at the El Limón Sur zone. Highlights from the Los Guajes West zone were 25.7m grading 17.2g/t gold and 14.8m grading 10.2g/t gold. Highlights from the El Limón Sur zone were 17.3m grading 4.7g/t gold and 9.6m grading 4.4g/t gold. To date, a total of 32,100m of drilling in 204 holes has been completed on the Morelos Norte (El Limón) project and an updated, inferred mineral resource estimate for the El Limón area has been generated. The total inferred mineral resource is 30.7Mt, averaging 3.27g/t for 3.2Moz of contained gold, the company said. This mineral resource covers the El Limón main, El Limón Sur, Los Guajes and Los Guajes West zones.
