Tecpetrol picks up Auca bidding rules

Argentine oil company Tecpetrol has bought bidding rules for the Auca block as part of a tender being held by Ecuador's state oil company Petroecuador, Petroecuador said in a statement Tuesday. Tecpetrol has already bought bidding rules for the Culebra-Yulebra block. The other two blocks on offer are Lago Agrio and Shushufindi. Russian energy company Acces-Wilca, Chinese oil company CNCP, and the international subsidiary of Chilean state oil company Enap, Sipetrol, have bought the Culebra-Yulebra rules. Brazil's federal energy company Petrobras and Spain's Repsol YPF have bought bidding rules for all four blocks, while the Ecuadorian subsidiary of UK oil company Perenco has bought bidding rules for the Auca and Culebra-Yulebra fields. Ecuador's energy ministry expects to receive bids on January 23 but the deadline could be extended if companies need more time.
